Dedicated to the memory of Alexander James Albiston. Gone but never forgotten.

Kitty Soos runs the Nottingham Marathon 2013

On Sunday 29th September 2013, Kitty Soos ran the Nottingham 'Robin Hood' Marathon for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of her friend Alex. Her first marathon, Kitty completed the 26.2 miles and raised £485 for the BCRT. She also raised £466 for the Sheffield Children's Hospital charity in memory of another school friend Nick Walker. Of her reasons for running the marathon for the BCRT, Kitty writes:

"Running the Marathon in memory of Alex was a no-brainer. If I could show half the determination he out-standed us with I'd only ever be half the person he was. My heart aches thinking about the hell he went through and the smile he always wore (with 'Dorothy' by his side). Doing this marathon to try and raise money for a charity he and his family are passionate about is a privilege. Arriving at the start line- With or without you - Coldplay was playing... It was a sign that seemed almost too strong to question. Immediately reassured I cracked on with the 26.2 miles only crossing the finish line 4hours 30minutes later.
I'm honoured to have known Alex and with his friends and family will continue to raise money for Bone Cancer Research.
The aching muscles are nothing compared to the aches we all feel in our hearts. Alexander Albiston you absolute hero."
